Sandwich is Cape Cod's oldest town (founded in 1637) and the Dunbar House is right in the heart of the old village. Across the street is The Dexter Grist Mill (restored mill dating from 1640's) where you can see Leo the Miller grinding his corn. Next door is The Thornton Burgess Museum, devoted to the famous children's author and his conservationalist message. Just up the street is The Hoxie House, one of the oldest houses on Cape Cod (1675) and furnished with period pieces. Across the square is The Sandwich Glass Museum and its world class collection of exhibits. Round the corner is Yesteryear's Doll Museum with an extensive collection of rare and antique dolls. Sandwich also has a number of interesting shops, ranging from a weather store to antique emporia.

If I could cram my whole wedding in there I would! Despite the fact that they have completed their beautiful addition and probably more than doubled their seating, they are still able to offer smooth, individualized service whether you're there for afternoon tea or lunch. Servers are professional, personable, and knowledgable. The food is divine (do NOT miss out on their scones or tomato bisque!) and the selection of teas is just lovely. The desserts aren't so bad either ;) but you'll probably be too stuffed to eat any so just get something to take home or stuff in your face while you check out their little shop.

Owner is inconsiderate of customers. Did not inform my group that she would NOT be able to seat us even though she had accepted a reservation for 10.
Owner does not have a customer oriented approach to problem solving. She is quite rude! I would not go to this shop- you might not be served!
